This piece was a commission by the K family, friends here in Salt Lake City, Utah. When I accepted the commission, they requested I use a limited palette of cranberry, black and grey. In order to get the cranberry color just right, we compared real cranberries to paint colors. Prior to working on the large canvas, I painted two 12x12's as well as a 36x36 to gain the family's approval. The wife also stated that she wanted to see something different each time she viewed it. Texture was also important to the family. Last week, I delivered the piece to the family and received their overwhelming approval.

K-4 is a commission I recently finished. When I accepted the commission, the K family requested that I use a limited palette of cranberry, black and grey. The lady of the family also stated that she wants to see something different every time she looks at the piece. Once it was finished, the family gave their collective approval and are enjoying the piece.
